Biography

Pat Parnell is a poet, teacher, and journalist. She is Professor Emerita at Chester College of New England, (formally White Pines College). A native of Richmond, Va., she taught at the secondary level in Fairfax, Va. and advanced creative writing at the University of Virginia before moving to Stratham, N. H., where she presently resides. Pat Parnell is Publicity Chair and Conference Coordinator for the Seacoast Writers Association. and Associate Editor of The Poets' Touchstone, the quarterly publication of the Poetry Society of N. H. She has published two books,  Snake Woman and Other Explorations, Finding the Female In Divinity, (2001) and Talking With Birches, (2004). In addition her work has appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies.

William Patrick "Bill" Parnell, 87, of Stratham, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010. He and Pat were married since 1948. Their extended family includes four sons, eleven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Enthusiasms include reading, good food, Celtic music, politics, travel, and spiritual growth.  Home is in seacoast New Hampshire with their grey tiger cat Nomar. You can reach Pat by e-mail at patparnell@comcast.net.
