Pat Parnell is a poet, teacher, and journalist. She is  Professor Emerita at Chester College of New England, (formally White Pines College). A native of Richmond, Va., she taught at the secondary level in Fairfax, Va. and advanced creative writing at the University of Virginia before moving to Stratham, N. H., where she presently resides. Pat Parnell is also Publicity Chair and Conference Coordinator for the Seacoast Writers Association. 

She has published two books,  Snake Woman and Other Explorations, Finding the Female In Divinity, (2001) and Talking With Birches, (2004). In addition her work has appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies.

 Pat and her husband Bill enjoy their extended family with its nucleus of four sons, eleven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Their mutual enthusiasms include reading, good food, Celtic music, politics, travel, and spiritual growth.  Married since 1948, they enjoy their home in seacoast New Hampshire with their grey tiger cat Nomar and their Australian cattle dog, Shelia.
